if i operate a fruits stall but i also sell it online, do i need to protect it?

raining cats, yes, I will strongly recommend that you still protect it. It's more of deciding what to protect (vs the resources required). For example, if you are selling it online and your website allows pple to register and you therefore store their particulars, you will not want their information to be leaked because you did not protect your site.?ÿEven if it is just a simple website, the best practices will also help (e.g. don't use weak passwords for your admin account etc) to prevent defacement etc.

&nbsp;

So it depends on what needs to be protected before deciding how to protect it. You don't have to spend alot (or even at all), but you still need to put in the effort to protect it.

@Kenneth Lee yep, you got a point there. cos was thinking if the fruits website just allow anyone to enter their username and password, but there's no confi info such as credit card, etc.. payment will be routed to paypal.
