The role is good. Knowing vulnerability assessment and web pen test are good skillsets. And banks generally knows how to do it and thus able to train you.

I'm applying for a security role in a local bank, need to do things like security assessment (VA scanning web pen test), risk analysis, policy review, security awareness briefing, etc.. Is such role helpful in my career path?

working as security role in bank probably helps in one career's path, at least look better in CV! hehe..

bank jobs can be tough leh, heard got to work OT. no doubt pay may be high but if u r a married person, u have to strike a balance between work and family. cheers.
