Cyber-attack Exposes Sensitive Data on Over 134,000 U.S. Sailors

i think it's about time that our sensitive info shouldn't be place in a publicly available web server, it should be hosted internally in a secured zone. what good should it get for pple to access it via internet, hackers will be more than happy, isn't it?

The U.S. Navy said hackers have gained access to the Social Security numbers and other sensitive information of more than 134,000 current and former U.S. sailors.

The data breach occurred after a hackers compromised the laptop of an employee of Navy contractor Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
