For those going for the 2017 CISM exam, there are some changes to the job practice areas and exam weightage.

While the four CISM job practice domains remain similar, the exam weighting will shift slightly. The new weighting is as follows:
<strong>Domain 1ƒ??Information Security Governance:</strong>?ÿEstablish and/or maintain an information security governance framework and supporting processes to ensure that the information security strategy is aligned with organizational goals and objectives.?ÿ<strong>(24 percent)</strong>
<strong>Domain 2ƒ??Information Risk Management:</strong>?ÿManage information risk to an acceptable level based on risk appetite in order to meet organizational goals and objectives.?ÿ<strong>(30 percent)</strong>
<strong>Domain 3ƒ??Information Security Program Development and Management:</strong>?ÿDevelop and maintain an information security program that identifies, manages and protects the organizationƒ??s assets while aligning to information security strategy and business goals, thereby supporting an effective security posture.?ÿ<strong>(27 percent)</strong>
<strong>Domain 4ƒ??Information Security Incident Management:</strong>?ÿPlan, establish and manage the capability to detect, investigate, respond to and recover from information security incidents to minimize business impact.?ÿ<strong>(19 percent)</strong>

Also, the exam has gone electronic. No more 'colouring with 2B pencils on paper'. The exam testing window is from 1st May to 30 June 2017.

When is the first run of the CISM exam?

Usually, there are 3 days in a year when the exam is conducted. June, September and December.

However, from 2017, it will be via the electronic method. Hence, the 1st run is from 1st May to 30th June.
