its a home wifi, just feel that my 1GB fibre broadband seems a little slow, so just want to secure my wifi router properly in case pple hacked in.

Yes, you should secure your devices. But sometimes, could also be that the ISP is slow.

Good tips indeed. 1 of the first things I do is to check if there are any updates to my firmware as indicated in the article...i do also enable NAT and disable ping requests.
That said, perhaps u wanna consider separating your entertainment devices e.g. game consoles, smart TV etc within a DMZ?

my suggestions below ?ÿhope it helps:

<li>Change all administrator password immediately</li>
<li>Change the default settings to a better one (E.g. upgrade to WPA2)</li>
<li>Change the SSID to another name</li>
<li>There's 2.4ghz and 5ghz, assign them to different devices (E.g. smart TV, mobile phones, etc..)</li>
