In my personal view, I think that the maritime sector also needs to have good IT security and I feel that it's been somewhat neglected/overlooked because the focus has usually been on private sector/government/finance/critical infrastructure etc.

Skillset wise, honestly, I don't have much in terms of job experience but I know that I want to specialise in network and IT security.

Meaning you hasn't got any security related experiences? Are u in the midst of pursuing a IT security certification or course?
