Hey, welcome to our forum Richard! R u here in Singapore already?
So u were saying u r an IT & Risk security specialist but working in the financial sector? if yes, your chances of finding a job here within the banking sector is pretty high. But it can be demanding as well, i got frens who have to travel regionally to perform risk audits.
Have u tried knocking on the big 4 audit firms?

quinton7, thanks! yes, I have been here for the past three months, but no luck yet, it seems pretty tough to get a job here, specially because of the employment pass. I have tried the big 4, but I have no consulting experience, so maybe that is why they havent called me back, I am very technical, vulnerabilities management, SIEM, risk management.
Actually would not mind working in other industries, if it would be easier to find an opportunity.

Hi living soul, thanks! I know of AlienVault and Ossim. I managed the implementation from end to end. What is the most common or preferred product for SIEM in the industry here in Singapore?

Interesting topic. just chipping in my thoughts. Here in SG, most commonly used SIEM products range from ArcSight, Splunk, Solarwinds and so on...

yes, i agree with 34jonston... there is some open source tools also getting popular on SIEM space.
Please refer the security onion custom linux distro.
