must take my hat off these hackers, for able to find flaws thru SMB.
But honestly, should we really pay if we kena the wannacry ransomware? cos victims may need their data urgently.

Never give in to ransomware.
Develop employee education programs for identifying scams, malicious links, and attempted social engineering.
Have regular penetration tests run against the network as often as possible/practical.
Test your backups to ensure they work correctly upon use.

No I think even as small biz, u can take reasonable approach such as backing up your company data to the cloud which is automatically done. And you can wet your antivirus to be updated on a weekly basis too. Do ur part to keep ur biz safe.
