Question about Hardening

Just curious, so far i came across CIS as the industry best practice for hardening guide. Is their reference really the best or should i customized it further? is it already stringent?

I guess CIS standards is consider quite good, should be followed. But of course you have to study each clause for applicability to different context, depending on your environment.
