Need to update wp site regularly?

hi all, just wan to find out if its really necessary to update my wp site regularly? cos actually i done many customization amd worried it may impact the quality. advice?

I agreed with quinton, need to use customize site if u have the fear for updating wordpress. if u used wordpress for simple site, it's fine but if u have heavy customization then advisable not to use wordpress...

regardless of any software you used for your website, always keep them up-to-date by applying latest patches, system hardening and appropriate configuration and settings, etc.

if you worry about the impact after the update, build a development version of your live/production site.
test them out first before doing on the production site
