Hi paulsng33,

IMDA called and advise me to get hired first before go for on job training. The main purpose is funding.

CSA advise me "to contact the individual agencies/institutes directly as different agencies/institute have different guidelines and rules for their student intake."

Government encourage people go for career switch. Especially to Cyber Security. If the institutes not change the enroll?ÿpre requirement, it means they don't want to earn money.

The last option for those who do not have cyber security experience is go to Couresea or Udacity for self study.

Hi Wayne, bit ironic to hear IMDA advicing youto get hired first. The key question is would someone hire you if you are lacking of cybersecurity experience? But I think there's a program under CSA ( www.csa.gov.sg/programmes/csat ) that could help you. U tried?

I would say go pursue certification first, go for CISA, CISSP, Security , CEH, etc... This would certainly help secure a security-related job. :)

Hi paulsng33,

You are right who will?ÿhire people without experience.

I have shared some of the courses offer by local institute to CSA. Those courses pre requirement is diploma holder.

CSA advise me to contact the institutes?ÿfor more information.

There is a good news that I enrolled CISSP at NTUC Learning Hub.?ÿAfter complete the course and pass?ÿisc2 exam,?ÿI can become an associate of isc2. It is the only tool I can enter cybersecurity.

How much do you pay for your CISSP at ntuc learning hub? got subsidy?

btw, just curious, why do u want to switch to cybersecurity sector and how much do u know about it? assuming u probably heard about the high in demand for cybersecurity professionals but it isn't a bed of roses career. :)

hi 1do1do,

the course cost $1,348.20 incl admin fee. after deduct skill future and UTAP (for NTUC member only), the actual cost is $598.20.

Cybersecurity is useful for many sectors to protect computer system, server data, internet connection etc.

the purpose to switch is because IT is my interest not job demand. and out of my current professional.

if?ÿi can't find any cybersecurity job after pass the isc2 exam, at least i have another "weapon" when search for a new job.
